How to connect to your
DVR
This page will help you connect
to your Speco DVR for the first time. This only needs to be
done once per computer.
Step 1. Close all instances of
Internet Explorer. Now open internet explorer and type in the
address of your DVR in the address bar and press enter on your
keyboard. An example of this is pictured below:

it is important to put the http:// at the
beginning, and make sure that your address end with a ":" and a
number. Step 2. Now your
computer will try to connect to your DVR. However 99% percent
of the time this will fail. This is normal. Now click on
tools and go to internet options.

Step 3. Click on the Security tab.
Step 4. Click Trusted Sites.
Step 5. Click the Sites
button. Step 6. Uncheck the
box labeled Require server verification for all sites in this zone.
Step 7. Type the address of your DVR
into this box. On most computers this will already be typed
in. Again make sure that the http:// and the ":" followed by a
number are part of this entry Step 8.
Click add. Make sure that the address of the DVR is listed in
the Websites protion of this window. Click Close.
Step 9. Click custom level.
This will bring up advanced security options for all of your trusted
sites. Make sure that all the sites listed under trusted sites
in step 7-8 are sites that you know and trust, otherwise this could
allow viruses/spyware onto your computer.

Step 10. At this point make sure
that this box is labeled "Trusted Sites Zone" If it is
not do not go to the next step. Step
11. Scroll down to the "ActiveX controls and plug-ins"
heading. Any option with this icon:
needs to be enabled. Step 12.
Click OK.

Step 13. A warning box will now
appear. Click yes on this box, and click Ok on the next Window
to close internet option. Close and re-open Internet Explorer.
Step 14. Now try to connect to your
DVR as described in Step 1. A security bar may appear at the
top of the page this time. Just click it and select install.
If any other warning boxes appear click OK or Install.
