A Century of Iowa Architecture
& The Great spencer fire

June 1 - July 3, 2006

This collaborative exhibit with the Parker Historical Society of Clay County provides a two-fold look at architecture in Iowa:  one from the Iowa Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) with a traveling exhibit that spotlights the top 50 Iowa buildings of the 20th Century, and the other that offers a glimpse of Spencer's Main Street in 1931.
The Spencer exhibit features a collection of historic photographs that document Spencer Main Street before, during and after the Great Spencer Fire of 1931.  The majority of the photographs are from the Parker Museum's collection; others came from community residents, newspapers and businesses.

Arts on Grand will be holding the premier & book signing for "Conflagration"
( a book about the Spencer Fire).
Friday June 2,  4 - 6pm
The book will be for sale and the author
(Julie Schmidt) will be in attendance.
