Iowa artist Doug Eckheart was born
and raised in Moorhead, MN, where he subsequently attended Concordia
College, receiving a B.A. degree in 1965. In 1967 he earned his
M.F.A. from Bowling Green University in Ohio. Additional studies
took him to Arts Institutes and Centers throughout North America.

Doug is a producing, active
artist, currently a Professor of Art at Luther College in Decorah,
IA, where he has taught since 1968. With a love of travel
and international education, he has organized study abroad
programs and lectures throughout Western Europe, Mexico, Central
America, the Bahamas, New Zealand and the island of Malta. |

| "My Journey:
Watercolors of an Artist's World Travels" offers a collection
of paintings and drawings inspired by Doug's many travels.
His artwork has been exhibited in solo and group shows in
galleries throughout the United States and in countries where his
travels have taken him. |

| Actively involved in
numerous local and regional art organizations, Doug has led
numerous workshops, spoken at conferences, been featured in
various publications, radio and television programs including the
Iowa Public Television program "Living in Iowa". |
