About the
Exhibit and the Artist
This
exhibit features a retrospective collection of
quilts made by Eunice Hill from 1959 through
2007, including her current project titled
"Pride of Iowa".
Eunice Hill is an internationally recognized
quilter who has won numerous state and national
awards, including being named Quilter of the
Year in 2004 by Minnesota Quilters, Inc.
She is a member of numerous quilt guilds in
Minnesota and Arizona, as well as the American
Quilt Study Group and Minnesota Quilt Project.
Eunice has over 25 years of quilting experience,
15 years of teaching and speaking, and was
recently certified by the American Quilters
Society, as a quilt appraiser in May 2006.
In one of eighty quilt appraiser she can provide
a quilt owner with a legal document that
describes and valuates their quilt, and that can
be used for a number of reasons, the most common
for insurance and gift value.
Ms. Hill's symbolic quilts are part of the Mayo
Clinic's permanent collection on display at the
Cancer Center in Rochester Minnesota. A
quilt designer as well, Ms. Hill has supported a
number of humanitarian organizations and causes
through the contribution of her artful quilts,
including the International Ass. of Human
Caring, and Sedona Heritage Museum in memory of
Sedona pioneer Mary Hancock, in addition to the
Mayo Clinic. Her unique quilt designs and
patterns will be available for sale at Arts on
Grand throughout the duration of the exhibit.
Exhibits are funded through:
